Platform Updates

Welcome to the Private Beta

dungeonmaster.website opens its doors to early adventurers

Today we are opening the private beta for dungeonmaster.website — a platform built for people who love tabletop RPGs but struggle to find a consistent group, a confident Dungeon Master, or enough prep time to run a great session. We have been playtesting internally for months, and we are ready to invite the first wave of adventurers.

What you can do in the beta

The beta focuses on the core loop: brief a campaign, gather your party, and run a live session with an AI Dungeon Master that respects your setting, tone, and house rules. You can create campaigns with a structured brief — setting description, tone slider from grim to heroic, party roster, NPC notes, and tonight-only DM instructions — so every session starts with shared context instead of a blank page.

Sessions run in real time. Players join via a link, type or speak their actions, and the AI narrates responses grounded in your campaign state. We are not trying to replace human DMs; we are building a stand-in that keeps the table moving when schedules collide or when you want to experiment with a new setting before committing six months of Thursday nights.

Who this is for

  • Friend groups with one person willing to DM but not every week
  • Solo players who want structured solo play with real rules
  • Experienced DMs testing one-shots or side quests without full prep
  • New players who want to learn by playing, not by reading three rulebooks first

What is not in the beta yet

We are honest about gaps. Battle maps, advanced billing tiers, and the full one-shot library are still rolling out over the coming weeks. Voice input depends on Whisper configuration on our staging worker. Portrait generation requires image API keys. If something breaks, use the feedback button — every report goes to a real inbox we read daily during beta.

How to get access

Sign up at dungeonmaster.website with an email and password. Beta accounts start on the free tier with a monthly session allowance. We will invite active testers to Party tier trials as we expand capacity. No credit card required to start.

We built this because we wanted to play more D&D and prep less paperwork. If that resonates, we would love you in the beta.

What comes next

Over the next several months you will see posts here covering campaign brief improvements, real-time multiplayer hardening, character tools, one-shots, battle maps, and subscription tiers. We will publish platform updates on this journal whenever a feature ships — not in bulk dumps, but as the work actually lands.

Thank you for being early. Roll initiative when you are ready.
